The Association of Old Rivingtonians Needs Your Help!

For the last 120 years of Rivington & Blackrod High School's 450 year history, there has been an Association of Old Rivingtonians, who have over the years, organised many social and sporting events and raised funds to donate to local and national charities.

The current Association committee, some of whom have served for over 60 years, have decided that at their time of life, they can continue no more, and this summer decided that the Old Rivs Association may have to close. The committee believes however that many former pupils would like to see this institution continue and embrace the opportunity to refresh the Association into the modern day.

So, to that end, a meeting was arranged on 8th November 2023 for the existing Association committee to meet former students of RBHS and to present a potential vision for the future - which is very much focused on refreshing the Association for the "younger" generations.

Some of the ideas presented include:

  • Career Advice

  • Mentoring

  • Networking Events

  • Socials

  • Reunions

  • Regional Dinners

  • Employment Opportunities

  • Financial Support

The meeting was very well received by all who attended, and the continuation of the Association of Old Rivingtonians has the full support of Old Rivingtonians Sports Club, Rivington & Blackrod High School, and the existing committee.

But now, they need your help!

The Association are keen to build up their database of ex-pupils, so they can communicate and publicise the various events and activities planned.

If you went to school at RBHS, and would like to join the Association of Old Rivingtonians' mailing list, please click on the link below to submit your details.

Your support is very much appreciated in helping to maintain and grow this historic, and important Association.
